Internship on construction site
As part of architectural studies, we have to perform on-construction site training to help us understand the course and construction of a project. So, I did an internship at MORETTI CONSTRUCTION, located in Courcelles-les-Lens, France.
This internship was for me the opportunity to understand the different ways of construction possible for a building, the implementation of this construction, the progress and organization of a building site.
In addition to enriching my knowledge this internship allowed me to understand the relationships between the architect, the construction manager and the workers and how they set up the construction site and its organization.
So I was able to participate in the development of a boarding school for girls on the site of the Anchin Institute in Pecquencourt, France.
This internship was very rewarding, both from a technical point of view and from a human point of view. It allowed me to better understand the organization and the progress of a building site but also the role of the different actors. It allowed me to experiment and to learn various construction techniques.
It also allowed me to better understand the difficulties that workers face when building a project. It is important to be able to experience their work in order to understand the difficulty and the energy it requires. This training so I also learned a lot about it on a human level, and, I think, will still serve me as an architect.
